A mix CD with Songs that Inspire Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
A mix CD with Songs that Inspire - Essay Example It also received a Golden Satellite Award nomination for ââ¬Å"Best original Song in a Motion Pictureâ⬠. It was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for ââ¬Å"Best Pop Collaboration with Vocalsâ⬠, losing to ââ¬Å"I Still Have That Other girlâ⬠by Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello. One of the features of the song is when Carey and Whitney Houston sing a section of the song in thirds; they have done this and still kept in tune. The lyrics of When You Believe consist of ten stanzas starting with a painful and seemingly hopeless situation gradually evolving into a more favorable one. The persona (who can be practically anyone) can begin to hope and believe in himself, thus enabling him to achieve. The first stanza goes thus: The speaker accepts that the fertile ground for miracles to happen is the presence of hope which is frail, yet hard to obliterate. He firmly states that when one believes, success is just around the corner. There are times in life when prayers remain unanswered and fear on all sides threaten to overwhelm. These are times when hope flies to other climes like summer birds before the onset of winter. But this is just a feeling as shown by the next stanza wherein the speaker wonders why he has not succumbed to failure. His heart overflows with words of gratitude that he never thought he would need to say. Of course, miracles such as these do not always take place when one asks for them. He admits that it is easy to give in to oneââ¬â¢s fears. There are times when one cannot think straight because of the pain or see oneââ¬â¢s way through the rain. (Rain here is used a s a metaphor meaning a state of suffering). It is then when a small but still resilient voice can be heard, saying that love can provide relief, love is the solution. The lyrics do not say whose voice it is, but the concluding paragraph hints that the voice is Godââ¬â¢s voice. Everyone who is alive on this planet goes through difficult times. The song

Getting people to understand what the mission is the next step that would help the group in the formation of the church. In getting to know the certain aspects that come with the starting of a new church, the mission is to know who the church is being started for. It should also identify its main goals and objectives if it wants to excel in the quest to spread the word. The church could be for either two groups of people. These are the de-churched or the non-churched. The de-churched were once church goers but do not attend church anymore. However, the non-churched simply refer to those that do not want to attend for one reason or the other (Elaine 34). They could be ethnic, class driven, the lifestyle they led, and the deaf or even non-ethnic diversification. Getting to know this is very essential in the beginning of the church (Elaine 36). The author goes on to claim that building the church for only one group of people is not right. The author states the argument the God, the Supreme Being, is the creator of all beings and; therefore, nobody has the right to take that away. Building churches while under the understanding that the word travels faster if the group of people from the same common ground is wrong. The main aim the author is trying to put across is the diverse choices that should be available. Beginners of churches should consider the creation of a diverse church society. The effect of calcium in reducing risk to melanoma Research Paper
The effect of calcium in reducing risk to melanoma - Research Paper Example Melanoma has three distinct categories namely cutaneous, mucosal and ocular melanoma (Dorce, 2013). Cutaneous melanoma is the most prominent and occurs on the skin precisely in the cells of the pigment. Mucosal melanoma is common in the vagina, throat, anus and canals of passages (Braeuer et al., 2014). A rare form of melanoma is the Ocular Melanoma that appears mostly around the eyes. Melanoma is treatable at an early stage but if the cancer goes unnoticed, it advances to other body parts where it becomes fatal and extremely hard to treat. Barnhill argued that some of the signs of melanoma include the development of moles on the skin (2004). Bleeding spots on the body and un-healing sores may be indications of melanoma. In women, melanoma is mostly on the legs whereas in men itââ¬â¢s common on the upper back. Women have turned to meals with low-calories with the aim being to get slim. As a result, calcium appears to be deficient in women thus increasing chances of melanoma. Individuals with skin that is extremely sensitive to ultraviolet radiation are at higher risks of melanoma. In addition, excessive sunburns resulting from increased exposure to the sun at a tender age may cause melanoma later on because of damaged cells that are prone to cancer. Some rare cases of cancer history in a family exist where children acquire melanoma genetically from parents (Sucio, 2014).
